Dominique Cecil, Lead Clinican
A native of Omaha, Nebraska – Dominique Cecil has lived in Alabama since the age of 10. Originally, Dominique planned to become a vocalist and trained to be a musical performer most of her childhood.
However, after a bout of disillusionment, Dominique decided to do everything in her ability to keep others from experiencing the pain that she felt.
Due to her new purpose, Dominique graduated from the University of Montevallo with BS in Psychology and a minor in vocal performance. Afterward, she received her masters in clinical mental health counseling and began working three weeks after graduation.
Dominique’s first job was at a foster care agency and she received four promotions during her six years there. At the end of that journey, Dominique earned a position as their regional clinical coordinator.
Inspired to help a client with insurance issues, Dominique began private practice. Dominique provided free sessions to this patient until she established Yellow Bird Counseling, LLC. Although Dominique only intended to serve one client, she began to take the referrals that began to come her way.
Dominique happily runs Yellow Bird Counseling, LLC with the mission of helping those who are hurting. Dominique is thorough, treats each client as an individual, and guilds them to their goals by tending to their individual experiences. For Dominique Cecil, therapy is not just a career, it is a lifestyle.
